नैऋत्यां क्रोधनः पातु उन्मत्तः पातु पश्चिमे

बिल्वमूले पठेद्यस्तु पठनात्कवचस्य यत् । त्रिसंध्यं पठनाद् देवि भवेन्नित्यं महाकविः ।।

विचरन् यत्र कुत्रापि विघ्नौघैः प्राप्यते न सः

वायव्यां मां कपाली च नित्यं पायात् सुरेश्वरः

Shiva manifested for a pillar of sunshine to settle the dispute of superiority amongst Brahma and Vishnu. Brahma dishonestly proclaimed his victory, stating that he had identified the higher finish from the pillar of light. To punish him for his dishonesty and vanity, Shiva manufactured Bhairava through the region involving his brows.
